One of the most beautiful things about ceramics is that about half the field has an interest in the presentation and serving of food. This makes ceramics different than any other fine art form. It innately tells you to use it, to have a further connection beyond the visual and aesthetic. You are encouraged to touch and to actually use the pieces and I’m interested in this connection. The connection between the user, the piece and the food or drink served from it. Eating something homemade from something handmade makes the food and the experience more enjoyable.
